Classes may be cancelled due to a lack of required number of participants - be sure to SIGN UP for your favorite classes PRIOR to the start of the session!!!


Cheerleading / Tumbling / Dance (Monthly program) - YMCA Made To Move is here!
Lead Instructor, Kelsey Camper, is offering three new activities: 
HCFY Hardin County Heat Cheer - Both the Youth Cheer and Senior Cheer are currently full.  Please contact Kelsey Camper if interested.

Tumbling - For all athletes looking to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.  Toddler Tumbling through Level 3 advanced classes; held Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. Per month - $32.00 Y-members; $40 non-members.

 

New TWIRL Program

Wed evenings  Seniors 6-6:30 P.M  For 13-18 year olds.

 Tiny Tots 6-6:30 P.M for 2-6 year olds.

Juniors 7-7:30 P.M. for 7-12 year olds.  $15 per month for first child than $10 for each additional child.

AQUATICS

 

 

Sea Dragons Swim Team

Registration  is in September and season runs September through March. 

Short season cost $75.00  for first swimmer, additional swimmer in same family is $50.00. Short season runs September through November.

 Full Season cost $230.00 for first swimmer, additional swimmer in same family $200.00.

Pre-School Swim Lessons
For children 3 - 5 years old.  This is an introduction to swimming.  Early lesson will focus on floating and developing swimming skills including strong kicks. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:00 - 11:30 a.m.; or Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:00-5:30 p.m.;   $25/$50

Y Progressive Swim Lessons  
Swim lessons are available for youth from pre-school and up. Lessons meet twice a week over a six-week period. Children are expected to progress at their own rate.   Mondays & Wednesdays, 5:30-6:00 p.m., $25/$50 

Advanced Swim Lessons
This is for swimmers who have passed Minnow or the equivalent.  The lessons are designed to teach advanced swimming techniques, including breast and butterfly strokes, competitive turns, and competition dives/ starts.  Please check with the Aquatics Director for further details.

Aquacize: Adults -
A fun class that improves flexibility and range of motion. For adults, age 18 -98 and abilities - no swimming required!
M, W, F, 8:45 - 9:45 a.m.; $25/$50

 Parent and Child swim Lessons-
 Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:20 A.M. $25.00 for members, limit 6 per class.

Mondays and Wed 6:10-6:45 P.M.

    Chisel & Chat: M, W, F - 8:00-8:45 A.M. A mix of aerobic and floor exercises. Instructor:  Diana Smith (YMCA volunteer)                  Free/$30         

    Total Body Conditioning : M, W, F - 9:00-9:45 A.M.  Mix of strength training and cardio and good for all fitness levels.   Free/$30   instructor:  Marlene Jolliff                  

    Strength: T, Th - 9:00-9:45 A.M.   Build strength, muscle tone, and flexibility. Free/$30     Instructor  Donna Price.  

    SilverSneakers Cardio  T, Th - 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. - Great exercise class that adds a cardio workout  with basic strength and toning.  Free to SilverSneakers and Y-members / $30 per Month non-members.  Instructors: Marlene Jolliff (Tuesday) and Beth Hull (Thursday)

    SilverSneakers CLASSIC T, Th - 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. - Non-cardio exercise class emphasizing muscular strength and range-of-motion exercises using small balls, resistance bands and dumbbells.  Instructors are Marlene Jolliff (Tuesday) and Beth Hull (Thursday).  (Free to SilverSneakers and Y-members; $30 to non-members)

    In-Between Fitness: M, W, F - 10:00-11:00 A.M.    Low impact variety and dance-type class.   This class is good for all fitness levels. Instructor Beth Hull.     Free/$30    

    BodyWorks: T,TH - 5:00-5:45 P.M.   
    Great allover strength workout for all fitness levels.  Instructor: Beth Wetherill,  Free to Y-members/ $30

    Circuit / Interval Class: 
    Total body workout using circuits and/or intervals.  Good for all fitness levels.  Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00-6:45 pm    Free Y-members/$30 potential members.  Instructor Cindy Grogan.

    V.A.M.P.E.D  M, W - 6:00-6:45 P.M.  This class is for  Intermediate to advanced fitness levels. A variety of workouts with weights and strength highlighted.  Instructor:  Michele Nalls    Free/$30                     

    Boot Camp
    : T, Th - 7:00-7:45 P.M. This class is for all fitness levels.  Intensity increases as fitness levels increase and moves that work the upper and lower parts of the body.  Instructor: Michele Nalls     Free/$30

    Yoga
    : Tuesdays and Thursday, 10:00-11:00 a.m. , Instructor: Alyssa Johnston; OR  Monday and Wednesday - 7:00-8:00 P.M. (instructor: Chassie Schwemer).  Improve your flexibility and strength, improve posture, breathing, reduce stress.  Monthly class $15 members/ $ 30 non-members; 
                                                    

    Tae Kwon Do/Self defense: T, Th - 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Korean martial art form offered by the month, year-round.  Tim Conkle is our lead instructor.  $30 Month/ $40 Month

    Adult Volleyball:  Wednesdays - 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., and Fridays -5:30-7:00 p.m.   Open to adults and older teens.   Free to Y members/ $15 year non-member.   

    Adult Racquetball League: League is for intermediate to advanced skill players. Offered in January if enough interest. $15.00 members and $30 for non members.

    Racquetball Private Lessons:
      Learn the basics of this fast-paced sport with Frank Marsico.  Both adult and youth lessons are available. $ 5 per half-hour, members;  $15 per half-hour, non-members.  Contact the YMCA if interested.

    Massage: Massage (relaxation, therapy, or hot stone) offered by appointment only, Tuesday through Friday; LMT Kathie Phillips (formerly "Therapeutic Touch").  Current rates vary by type and length of massage.  Call the Y for more information or to schedule your appointment.

      SOCCER : PLEASE NOTE - Players age up in the fall; teams that wish to stay together should register at the same time.

      Fall Outdoor Travel Soccer: (U8-U15) -  Registration - first two weeks of June.    
                Teams that wish to stay together should sign up as a team at the same time.  Remember- players will age up for the Fall season where applicable. New players and late registrants will be placed on teams where needed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
                All new players must submit a copy of "Certificate of Live Birth" from the health department of the county they were born in. 
                The Fall Soccer Season runs mid-August through September.   Optional tournaments in October.
                Fees for Fall U8-U15 soccer:  $30 Y-members / $50 non-members
       
      Spring Outdoor Travel Soccer
      : (U8-U15) - Registration - first two weeks of January.  Players will remain in the same age bracket as they played in the previous fall. $10.00 late fee for all late registrations.
       
      As in the fall season, Coaches and Teams that wish to stay together for the Spring season should register all at the same time.
                New players and late registrations will be placed on teams where needed,
      on a first-come, first-served basis. Spring season runs mid-March through April and ends mid-May.
                              
      Outdoor U6 In-House League - Soccer year: Fall  - Spring :  informal beginner soccer for ages 4 and 5. 
                Fees for U6 Soccer are $25 Y-members / $35 non-members.

      Traditionally, the soccer year runs from August 1 to July 31. Children "age up" to the next age bracket in the fall.  Age is determined by the age the child has reached on July 31. 

      BIRTH CERTIFICATES REQUIRED for ALL new players to YMCA soccer program!!

      Four age groups are available for travel soccer , Fall 2014 - Spring 2015:
                        U-8 (birthdates between August 1, 2004 to July 31, 2006)
                        U-10  (birthdates between August 1, 2002 to July 31,2004)
                        U-12 (birthdates between August 1, 2000 to July 31, 2002)
                        U-15 (birthdates between August 1, 1997 to July 31, 2000)

      Children may not play up more than two years from their true age; this is a state policy.

                 Teams currently play in the Black Swamp League and travel to area communities within a 10-50 mile radius.
                Health Department -issued BIRTH CERTIFICATES are required for all new players;  ENTRY FEES ARE DUE upon registration!!!
              
               Players, coaches, and teams must register at the YMCA each season; teams will stay together where possible.

      Teams may choose to play in area tournaments at their option.  The YMCA is not able to sponsor tournament participation at this time, and it does not endorse tournament play.

      Tae Kwon Do: This Korean form of martial art teaches self defense and develops motor skills for ages six and up. Held year-round.  Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 p.m., Community Room. Fees are  $30 per month, Y-members/ $40 potential members.  Contact Tim Conkle, instructor, for more information.

      Home School Fitness:  Tuesdays, 1:00-2:00 p.m.;  pre-registration required for 7-week sessions, September through May. Activities include soccer, basketball, gymnasium games, swimming, track & field.  Each session ends with a free swim in the indoor pool. Home School Fitness is $ 3 per child, per week. 
             

     



Day Camps

Magical Mondays  (Ages 3-5) 10:00 -1:00  June 9 and 23, July 14 and 28, Aug 11 and 18.

Children will be actively involved in games, crafts, songs, "cooking", fitness and swimming. 

Weather permiting we will do some outdoor play each session.  All children will need to have the following with them each session:  towels, sunscreen, float belts,(preferably no "Swimmie" wings for on the arms).  Children need to wear their swimsuits with play clothes over so they will be ready for the pool.  Gym shoes are a must for any running and fitness activities.  Please wear them daily.  Because of the nature of where we will be meeting I request that you send a water bottle clearly marked with your child's name. 

Sign up for any or all of the sessions.  Fees are $10.00 per child for members and $15.00 per child for program members.   Fee is per Monday.

 

Day Camp

K-5th grade starting on June 11th on Wednesdays and Fridays through out the summer.  The Y is hosting Day Camp Days from 9:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M.  Participants will play games, do crafts, swim and much more.  Campers only need to bring a lunch and swimming gear, the Y will take care of the rest.  $20 for Y members, $ 30 for non members.

    Fun Stuff for Youth -

    Youth Fitness Orientation: This four-session class teaches youth, ages 12-15, the proper use of all exercise equipment in our weights room, as well as guidelines for creating an exercise routine.  Upon successful completion of the class, youth are entitled to work out in the weights & equipment room unaccompanied by an adult.  Instructor:  TBA
    Classes are offered by popular request - must have at least 3 registered to hold the course.  Cost is $40;  youth must be Y-member.

    Y Kids Parties: Held Halloween & Christmas. Activities include songs, games, crafts & stories.

    SILLY SATURDAYS - This program is usually held from 9:00 - 12:00 noon the 2nd Saturday of the month, October - May; activities are seasonal; Miss Beverly is the coordinator.  $ 10 members / $15 potential members.       Pre-registration is required,limit of 25 kids.

    SUPER SATURDAYS - New Saturday morning program for ages 8-12.  Usually the fourth Saturday of the month, subject to change according to holidays.   $10 members/ $15 non-members.    Space is limited to 20 kids- register by closing time on the Thursday prior to the scheduled Super Saturday!
